Mustangs’ season ends in Martin 46-30

The Huntingdon Mustangs saw their 2022-23 season come to end as they lost to Martin Westview in the play-in game for District 12-AA, 46-30. The Mustangs, who ended the season at 10-16, struggled offensively, while 10 Westview foul shots in the final quarter ended the their chance of a late comeback.
The Mustangs stayed within six points of the lead throughout the first three quarters, trailing 12-7 after one quarter, 22-16 at the half, and 29-22 after three quarters. The Mustangs fell behind in the fourth, 44-32, but a Ty Kelley three-pointer closed the gap to nine. The Mustangs were forced to foul and there was one technical called late, before Westview converted 10-10 foul shots in the last quarter for the win. The Chargers were 15-19 for the game from the line and the Mustangs were 9-15 after going 1-6 to start the game.
Ethan Ramsey led the Mustangs in scoring with 11, Kelley 8, Tycen Willis 4, E.J. Lewis 3, Landon Gordon 2, and Elijah Flowers 2. Westview, who will advance to play Milan, was led by Drew Shanklin with 11, Joy 9, McGuffin 6, Hamilton 6, Harris 6, Haskins 4, and Pearson 4.
