Millard Dale Higdon

Millard Higdon, age 89, passed away Sunday, Oct. 25, at his home surrounded by his family.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 31, in the chapel of Replogle-Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Osborne officiating. Burial followed in Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock.

Mr. Higdon was born in Carroll County to the late Orville Higdon and Lura Beasley Higdon. He was a 50-year member of Bruceton Masonic Lodge. His pride and joy was being the founder of Hig’s Restaurant in Hollow Rock, McKenzie, and Milan, where he retired from the business in 2006.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by; 1 brother, James Higdon; 4 sisters, Lorene King, Lewana Smothers, Onellia Kirk, Dorothy Edwards; and 1 great-granddaughter, Madison Blankenship.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Johnnie Epperson Cash Higdon; 1 son, Donald (Dawn) Higdon; 2 daughters, Judy (Ray) Moore, and Cathy (Michael) Greenberg; 3 step-children, Tommy (Lisa) Cash; Pam (Jeff) Goad, and Barbara Cash; 1 brother, Bobby (Patsy) Higdon; 1 sister, Betty Foreman; 7 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers who served are Josuah Higdon, Chad and Keith Hodge, Jeb Williams, Michael Greenberg, and Mark Bland. Honorary pallbearers who served are Bobby Higdon and William Bland
The family wishes to share a special thank you to Susie and Maria for their care the last 3 years.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or LeBonheur.
