Milan woman killed in wreck near Lavinia

A Gibson County woman was killed and a Cedar Grove man was seriously injured in a Dec. 16 two-vehicle crash on Highway 104 near Lavinia.

Cassandra Anders, 35, of Milan died from injuries sustained in the wreck, which occurred at around 12:40 p.m. on 104 close to Hopewell Church Road.

Roger Alexander, 52, of Cedar Grove was transported from the scene to an area hospital. Information regarding his condition was not available at press time on Monday.

According to the report by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Alexander was driving a 1998 Ford Explorer westbound on 104 and Anders was driving a 2009 Hyundai Accent eastbound on 104 when the two vehicles collided head-on.

The report does not state what caused the collision.

Anders was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to the report, but it is not known whether or not Alexander was wearing one.
