Mike Hillis Lewis

Mike Hillis Lewis, 85, of Huntingdon, passed away Friday, Dec. 18. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 22, in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Alex Hilliard officiating. Burial followed in Davis Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Lewis was born Nov. 8, 1935, in Yuma, to the late Max Todd Lewis and Bonnie Dee Hill Lewis Milam. He was retired from the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, a member of Davis Chapel United Methodist Church, the Huntingdon Circuit United Methodist Men, where he served as treasurer for thirty-four years. He also served as a Director on the Board of the Carroll County Farm Bureau, served in the National Guard for 42 years, and worked for Miller Construction for over ten years, after retirement.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Pat Lewis Johnson and a brother, Ned Dawson Lewis.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Louise Davis Lewis; one daughter, Angie (Steve) Bunn; two sons, Michael “Mickey” (Cathy) Lewis, Mark Davis (Kristy) Lewis, all of Huntingdon; a sister-in-law, Sue Ann Lewis of Yuma; and a brother-in-law, Bruce Johnson of Huntingdon.
He also leaves 3 grandchildren, Ashley Bunn (David) DeLoach, Abby Lewis, Will Lewis; and 3 great-grandchildren, Adalyn, Weston, and Lucy DeLoach.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Davis Chapel Cemetery, P. O. Box 243, Huntingdon, TN 38344 or Charity of your choice.
Pallbearers who served were Joe Lewis, Phillip Lewis, Bruce Johnson, Jr., Kenneth Davis, Jr., Ryan McDaniel, Ricky Simpson, Jeffery Vestal, and David DeLoach.  Honorary pallbearers were Allen Espey, Larry Kirby, Bobby Kirby, Elbert Vestal, Danny Brawner, Randy Baker, Frank Lewis, Steve Garner, Keith “KC” Eaton, and Huntingdon Circuit United Methodist Men.
