Middle Mustangs romp over Camden 32-14

 The Huntingdon Middle School Mustangs improved to 3-0 for the season with a 32-14 win over the Camden Middle School Lions in Camden Thursday. The Mustangs rushed for 284 yards and Kenton Smith rushed for 158 yards on 14 carries and three touchdowns. Kylen Turner chipped in 127 yards on just three carries and scored two touchdowns.

 The Mustangs scored on their first possession of the game as they went 57 yards in six plays and scored on a nine-yard run by Smith who also scored on the two-point conversion with 1:41 left in the first to give the Mustangs an 8-0 lead. The Mustangs scored their second touchdown of the game with 1:29 left in the half went Turner set sail for a 79-yard jaunt to the end zone and Smith ran in the two-point conversion to give the Mustangs a 16-0 lead at the half.

 The Mustangs then scored on their first possession of the second half as they went 57 yards in just four plays and scored on a 41-yard run by Turner. Smith again ran in the two-point conversion to give the Mustangs a 24-0 lead with 5:37 left in the third.

 Camden dotted the scoreboard in one play as Jack Davis rambled down the home sideline for a 65-yard run with 5:13 left in the third quarter for the touchdown. The conversion failed and the Mustangs held a 24-6 lead.

 The Mustangs answered quickly as they went 48 yards three plays as Smith covered the last 42 yards for the touchdown with 3:20 left in the third. Smith also ran in the two-point conversion to give the Mustangs a 32-6 lead. Eli King scored on a five-yard run for Camden with 7:31 left in the game and Davis added the conversion to cap the scoring for the game to give the Mustangs a 32-14 victory.

 The Mustangs will host Martin Middle this Thursday night at Paul Ward Stadium with a 6:30 kickoff scheduled.
