Aggravated Criminal Trespassing

•Christopher Dale Frederick, 36, of Park Circle, McKenzie, was charged with aggravated criminal trespassing on December 22.

According to the report, Officer Brandon Leek responded to a residential burglar alarm on McTyiere Street. Officer Leek witnessed the garage door was cracked and found Mr. Frederick hiding under the car. Frederick admitted opening the garage door as he was attempting to find a warm place to stay for the night.

DUI

•Mark Barksdale, 61, of Richardson Avenue, McKenzie, was charged with DUI-first offense on December 22.

Officer Justin Brister received a call of a driver leaving Little General Convenience Store. Brister spotted and followed the vehicle and made a stop. Barksdale was transported to Carroll County Jail.

Multiple Charges

•Charlie E. Bright, 50, of Winchester Street, McKenzie, was charged with resisting arrest, public intoxication and shoplifting on December 22.

Officer Cody Coleman was dispatched to Little General Convenience Store and then to a residence on Winchester Street, where the occupant had an order of protection against him. Officer Coleman located Bright in a field behind the house. Bright was on a bicycle and pedaled away and Coleman was unable to get him to stop. He located Bright at an abandoned residence on Stonewall Street, where Bright again attempted to flee on the bicycle before Coleman knocked him off the bike and pinned him to the ground as Bright continued to resist arrest. He was handcuffed and transported to Carroll County Jail.

Assault

•A juvenile was arrested after allegedly making threats to a man on Elm Street on December 21.

According to a report by Officer Justin Brister, Zaivion S. Teague said the juvenile walked in front of his house, ordered Teague to shoot a gun, and when he refused, the juvenile made threats of harm to Teague and his family. The juvenile reportedly claimed he would shoot up the house.

Domestic Assault

•Anthony Haynes, Jr., 43, of Walnut Avenue, McKenzie, was charged with domestic assault on Dec. 25.

According to a report by Officer Brandon Leek, Haynes’ wife, Shamira Haynes, stated she and her husband were arguing and he pushed the door into her head causing a contusion above the eyebrow.

Burglary

•Officer Mark Boaz took a report of a burglary on Dec. 24 on Hamilton Street at the residence of Kenneth Harder.

According to the report, a family member discovered entry had been made to the residence and notified police. Mr. Harder was out of town and will notify police of any missing property upon his return home.
