Martha Jane Kirby

1936 – 2022

Martha Jane Kirby, 86, of Huntingdon passed away Monday, February 28 at Baptist Hospital. Funeral Services were held on Saturday, March 5 in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Lynn Stapleton officiating. Burial followed at Jamison Cemetery.

Mrs. Kirby was born February 6, 1936, in Westport, to the late Marshall and Zona Thurman Spellings. She was an inspector with Borden’s Company (Cracker Jack), a member of the Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church, and an avid Cubs fan. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years; William Charles Kirby, six brothers, and three sisters.

She is survived by two daughters; Vicky Myracle (Ricky) of Lexington, Beverly Darnell (Larry) of McLemoresville, and a sister; Frances Scates, of Bruceton. She also leaves three grandchildren; Bryan Jones, Caleb Darnell, Megan Darnell Campbell, and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers who served were Caleb Darnell, Brian Campbell, Dewayne Spellings, Brayden Baxter, Lee Baxter and Mason Spellings. Honorary pallbearers were Kenny Scates, Dennis Scates, Mark Young, and Michael Spellings.
