Over $600,000 collected locally in August

A total of $609,666.35 in local option sales tax revenue was collected here in Carroll County during the month of August, according to data from the Tennessee Department of Revenue.

That comes out to $602,807.62 in net collections after state administration fees are taken out.

Huntingdon led the county with $245,886.43 in net collections, followed by the Carroll County portion of McKenzie with $183,870.92.

Net collections for August in other county municipalities included $32,269.84 in Atwood, $23,498.28 in Bruceton, $15,896.52 in Clarksburg, $14,496.91 in Trezevant, $5,938.52 in Hollow Rock, and $2,888.10 in McLemoresville.

In non-municipal areas of the county, a net of $78,062.43 was collected during August.
