Linda Lou Fields, 73, of Huntingdon, passed away Saturday, August 8, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held Thursday, August 13, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Jeffery Moody officiating. Burial followed at Union Academy Cemetery.
Mrs. Fields was born April 9, 1947 in Clarkston, Mich., to the late James W. Pruitt and Alice L. Gean Pruitt. She was a retired seamstress for the Publix Shirt Corporation with 27 years of service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, “Buddy” Ray Newbill Fields, whom passed away June 13, 2020, a daughter, Shannon (Tim) Hawkins, of Lacoochee, Fla, a son, James H. Thompson Jr., of Huntingdon; two sisters, Lula (Manuel) Crossno, of Huntingdon, and Sharon Roberts, of Florida; a brother, Wayne Pruitt, of Florida; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Smith, Sarah Drinkard, and Bobby R. Hawkins, three step-grandsons and 10 great-grandchildren.
