John D. Burns

John Dennis “J.D.” Burns, 92, of Bruceton, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 9 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 14 at Bruceton Funeral home with Steve Davis and Jimmy Furr officiating. Burial followed at Prospect Cemetery.
Mr. John was born on June 16, 1928 in Paris to the late Hafford Dunlap Burns and Ina Murrel Farris Burns. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Hollow Rock and a retired mobile agent for CSX Railroad.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Dunlap Burns.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Sara Berlean Burns of Bruceton; one son, John Dennis Burns, Jr. of Bruceton; two grandchildren, Annamarie (Andy) McWilliams of Madison, Al., And John Daniel (Kayla) Burns of Augusta, Ga.; two great-grandchildren, John Daniel Burns, Jr. and Everett Allen Burns; one sister-in-law, Peggy Burns of Paris; and one nephew, Charles Steven Burns of VA.
Pallbearers who severed are Chris Finley, Randy Kelley, Charles Cooper, Derreld Robinson, Tim Higdon, and Kurt Lumley.
