Jennifer Woodson receives special recognition

TCAT McKenzie congratulates, Jennifer Woodson, for being nominated for the Statewide Outstanding Achievement Recognition (SOAR) Award. Every year the Tennessee Board of Regents, College System of Tennessee, awards one student out of the 26 Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology campuses with a Student SOAR Award.

This year, Jennifer Woodson, an Industrial Maintenance Integrated Automation student from Dresden, was nominated to represent TCAT McKenzie. Jennifer maintained an overall 3.3 cumulative GPA during her enrollment of at least 450 clock hours. She has exhibited exemplary academic accomplishments by being involved in SkillsUSA, Leadership 101 and inducted into the National Technical Honor Society.

Jennifer is currently working in manufacturing at MTD in Martin, TN. She is seeking a job related to Continuous Improvement/Optimization in the renewable energy manufacturing sector. Jennifer plans to accomplish this goal by following her educational plan.   She is currently gaining the technical knowledge she needs to supplement her B.S. in business that she plans to complete next year.   She is currently gaining an understanding of how machines and robotics work to be more productive in optimization in a manufacturing environment. She chose Industrial Maintenance at TCAT McKenzie to achieve the knowledge and hands on training she needs to be successful in the job she is looking for.
