Janet Dean Cottingham, 78, of Hollow Rock passed away Wednesday, September 19 at her residence. Memorial services were held on September 23 at Bruceton Funeral Home. Burial will follow on September 29 at Shiloh First Baptist Church Cemetery in Selma, Alabama.
Mrs. Cottingham was born on July 16, 1940 in Natchez, Mississippi to the late Dean P. Ott and Edna Rhymes Ott. She was a member of Tremount First Baptist Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Cooley and a step-daughter, Teresa Juanette Bowles.
She is survived by a spouse, Dorman M. Cottingham of Hollow Rock; a daughter, Heather (Rich) Bratton of Hollow Rock; two sons, David Cottingham of Camden, and Chris (Amanda) Cottingham of Gadsden; 4 step-daughters, Nelda (Daniel) Hunter of Grove Hill, Alabama, Sandy Hafemann of Boynton Beach, Florida, Susan Hunter of Lake Worth, Florida, and Donna Tomlinson of Jasper, Florida; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
