Jamie Summers recognized with top supervisor award

Jamie Summers of McKenzie was presented the 2020 9-1-1 Professional Award for Supervisors. The award was for the supervisor who has done the most for dispatches in a department or agency. The recipient is recognized for excelling at their job requirements and balancing the needs of the dispatch center and administration with the needs of the dispatcher.

She is a lieutenant and is the Communications Supervisor for E911.

On Thursday at the virtual Tennessee Emergency Number Agency (TENA) Conference, she was presented the award at the local Emergency Operations Center in Huntingdon by Justin Whipple, West Tennessee TENA board member.

“It was emotional listening to the nomination letters and then to be selected by TENA,” said Jamie. “It was such a great honor. I pour my heart and soul into my job. It takes away a lot of time with my personal family life, but that is the dedication and love I have for my job and the ones that I work with.”

She says she has the best group of people with which to work.

“They are not just and will never be just employees,” she said. “They are family and I love them just like they were my blood family. Our job goes unrecognized most of the time, but each and everyone of you are the true unsung heroes and should always be proud of the job you do.”
