James H. Rust

James H. Rust, 80, of Marshall, TX, passed away Jan. 15 in Tyler, TX. Graveside services were held Monday, Jan. 19 in Marshall, TX. at Colonial Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. James Rust was better known in Huntingdon by Jimmy.  He was born November 10, 1940 in Huntingdon to the late Randolph and Bernice (Lane) Rust. He also attended school in Huntingdon. On November 4, 1974 he surrendered his life to Christ and the ministry. He had been in the ministry 47 years at the time of his death. He served as pastor to 1st Baptist Church in South Coffeyville, OK, Harmony Baptist in Hallsville, TX, Friendship Baptist Church in Marshall, TX, First Baptist Church in Laneville, TX., Enon Baptist Church in Doddridge, AR, Antioch Baptist Church in Atlanta, TX, and Center Hill Baptist Church in Linden, TX. At the time of his death, he was pastor of Hall Baptist Church in Jefferson, TX for the second time.

Rev. Rust was preceded in death by his first wife, Sue Rust; two sons, Farrell, and Larry; one brother, Larry Glynn Rust; one granddaughter, Miranda; and one grandson, David.He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Rust; seven children, Brent (Wanda), Tony (Tawyna), Janet (Charles),
Paul, Karen (Ray), Sandy (James), and Chris (Robin); one sister, Lottie Torkelson; one sister-in-law, Deb Rust; two brothers, Lee Rust and Terry (Arlene) Rust; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
