James Clifton Kennedy, 90, of McLemoresville, passed away Thursday May 20, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Private family services were held Tuesday May 25, in the Chapel of Dilday-Carter Funeral Home. Burial followed in Obion Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Kennedy was born was born March 23, 1931 to the late Glenn Kennedy and Alice West Kennedy. He served in the National Guard for nearly 10 years. He retired from Micron Specialties in Chicago, Ill. and moved back to McLemoresville, where he was a member of McLemoresville Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Gene Kennedy, and Thomas Kennedy; two sisters, Evelyn Jamison and Dorothy White.
He is survived by his wife, June Kennedy of McLemoresville; three daughters, Gena (Michael) Lavery Northlake, Ill., Karen (Steven) Schultz of Krugerville, Texas, and Pam (John Reynolds) Soto of Buda, Texas; one sister, Helen Blankenship of Cedar Grove; five grandchildren, Frank Soto, Matthew Schultz, Amanda Soto, Jennifer Galuszka, and Anna Lavery.
