It’s Walk Across Tennessee Time in Carroll County

Registration is due Sept. 1 to sign up for Walk Across Tennessee in Carroll County. Teams are encouraged to cumulatively walk the equivalent of the length of Tennessee (about 500 miles) or more, over an eight-week period. The team who walks the farthest “across Tennessee” will win, but everyone who participates will take home a healthy habit – walking for fitness.

Teams will consist of 6 members. One member is selected as the captain. Each member reports the total number of miles to the team captain on a weekly basis. The team captain reports the data for all the team members to the Extension Office. Simple!

Various forms of physical activity are accepted; a list of examples will be provided on the Carroll County UT Extension Webpage.

Carroll County Coordinated School Health will be donating prizes to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams. EACH member of the 1st place team will receive $75. 2nd place team members will receive $50 each. And 3rd place team members will receive $25 each. There will also be a $50 prize for Top Male and Top Female.

Don’t miss this opportunity to become more active. Sign up today! Form a team of 6 and register online at our Carroll County UT Extension Webpage (extension.tennessee.edu/Carroll). Registration is due by SEPTEMBER 1st.

If you have any questions, contact Lacy Yeley at [email protected] or call the UT Extension Office at (731) 986-1976 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
