Huntingdon students perform well on Elks Hoop Shoot

The Huntingdon Elks sponsored their annual Hoop Shoot on December 3 in Huntingdon for children from ages 8-13. Huntingdon had several students that placed first or second in their age group and advanced to the Trenton Elks Hoop Shoot on December 10.

 At Huntingdon Wylie Kee finished first in the 12/13 girl’s division, Livi Anne Kee first in the 8/9 girl’s division, Garvin Kee was first in the boys 12/13 division, Maddox Holmes second in the 12/13 boy’s division, Banks Butler first place in the 10/11 boy’s division and Drelyn Carter was second in same division, London Jones finished first in the 8/9 boys and Emory Williams was first in the 10/11 girls.

 The first-place winners advanced to the Trenton competition and Livi Anne Kee was first in the 8/9 girls by making 15/25 shots. Garvin Kee was first in the 12/13 boys by making 21/25 shots, Wylie Kee was first in the 12/13 girls by making 18/25 shots. Banks Butler was second at Trenton in the 10/11 boys.

 The first-place winners advance to the state competition in early February and that competition will be followed by a 4-state regional competition in Kentucky with the winners advancing to the National Competition in Chicago, Illinois later in the spring.
