Huntingdon Primary School to receive $4.6 mil face lift

Huntingdon Special School District’s Huntingdon Primary School is about to get a major facelift.

In a Dec. 14 meeting, school board members approved a $4,648,588 construction project for the school. It is not to exceed this amount.

“Lashlee-Rich of Humboldt will serve as the construction manager,” said Director of Schools Dr. Jonathan Kee. 

The project will be funded with Federal Relief Funding in the amount of $2.5 million and financing of $2.1 million in bonds.

The board approved last night to proceed with the construction project at Huntingdon Primary School. Lashlee-Rich out of Humboldt is serving as the construction manager. The board approved the total project not to exceed $4,648,588.00. The project will be funded with Federal relief funding ($2.5 million) and financing of bonds (2.1 million). Project includes: 6 additional classrooms and restrooms, new cafeteria, renovations to current cafeteria area, renovations and expansion of current kitchen, New kitchen equipment, teacher work room updates and replace all original windows around exterior of the school.
