Aggravated Assault

•Warrants were recently issued against Brandon D. Gilbert (age and address not provided) on charges of domestic assault and aggravated assault.

According to the report by Officer Carlton Cupples, officers responded to a domestic call at a Huntingdon residence on March 5. Coteshia Pearson told officers that her boyfriend (Gilbert) had assaulted her by striking her multiple times on the face and head with his fists, strangling her from behind, and throwing her down on the floor. She said Gilbert took her cellphone when she tried to call 911 but then gave it back when she started to walk to a neighbor’s house. She then drove to the end of her street and called authorities. Gilbert had fled the scene on foot by the time officers arrived. EMS responders were called to the scene to check on Pearson, who is pregnant. She was then driven to the hospital by a family member.

Multiple Drug Charges

•Bethany Amanda Middleton, 40, and Dain Cameron Hudson (age not provided) were both arrested on multiple drug charges on March 1 in Huntingdon.

According to the report by Officer Joseph Hedge, the HPD received information that methamphetamine and heroin were being sold by Middleton and Hudson from a Huntingdon residence. Police officers and a parole officer went to the residence, and Middleton and Hudson arrived together shortly thereafter. After getting permission to search the home, officers found .2 grams of heroin, .2 grams of “China White” heroin, 62.6 grams of meth, and various items of drug paraphernalia. A total of $2,090 was found in Hudson’s possession, and the cash was seized, along with Hudson’s cell phone.

Drugs, License Violation

•Taywone D. Hart, 44, of Savannah was charged with simple possession, drug paraphernalia, and driving on a suspended license, and Stephanie Klobucar (age and address not provided) was arrested on an outstanding warrant during a March 3 traffic stop in Huntingdon.

According to the report by Officer Angela Barker, she pulled over a vehicle driven by Hart with Klobucar as a passenger on Lexington Street because she had prior knowledge that Hart’s license was suspended. While speaking with Hart, Barker detected the odor of marijuana and obtained Hart’s permission to search the vehicle. During that search, she found a hand-rolled marijuana cigarette, a container of THC wax, and items of drug paraphernalia. A computer check showed that Hart had active warrants out of Henderson County.

Drug Arrests

•James Brown, 50, and Candis Highsmith, 39, both of Huntingdon, were both arrested on various drug and drug paraphernalia charges on March 1 at Brown’s residence.

According to the report by Officer Joseph Hedge, officers conducted a search warrant at Brown’s residence after receiving information that methamphetamine was being sold there. Brown, Highsmith, and two other people were at the residence when officers arrived. During that search, officers found 28.1 grams of marijuana, a meth pipe with a small amount of meth in it, and various items of drug paraphernalia. A total of $630 in cash was found in Brown’s possession. The cash and three cell phones were seized by officers. Hedge noted that it is believed that Highsmith has been assisting Brown in the illegal sale of drugs.
