
David H. “Hugo” Sellers, 95, of Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, February 5, at his home. Funeral services were held on Friday, February 10, in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Doug Sellers officiating. Burial followed at Christian Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Sellers was born December 23, 1927, in Huntingdon, to the late Luther Elsworth and the late Pearlie Imogene (Eskew) Sellers. He was a farmer, an auto mechanic, a service station owner, and a maintenance supervisor at Carroll County General Hospital, which later became Baptist Hospital. He was a member and former elder of the Christian Chapel Church of Christ. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, playing guitar, banjo, harmonica & mandolin, playing games, repairing mowers, serving others, and reading the Bible.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Myrtle Fay (Dill) Sellers, a son, Dale Sellers, a brother, Vester Luther Sellers, a sister, Frances Inez Sellers, brothers, Lester Sellers, William Sellers, sisters, Virgie Burcham, Mertie (Tansel) Taylor, Hettie (Luther) Lowe, and a great grandson, Caleb Stringham.
He is survived by his two daughters, Karen (Wayne) Wilson of Franklin, and Linda (Eddie) Sayle of Eads; two sons, David (Donna) Sellers of Meridianville, Alabama, Barry (Rea) Sellers of Florence, Alabama, and Prissy Sellers, widow of his eldest son, Dale. He also leaves sixteen grandchildren, Matthew (Belinda) Sellers, Holly (John) Flickinger, Hope (Chris) Stringham, Sean (Kelsey) Sellers, Zachary (Amy) Wilson, Rachel (Neil) Segars, Tyler (Lauren) Wilson, Lee (Julie) Wilson, Stephen (Keri) Sayle, Lori Ferguson, Luke (Audrey) Sellers, Levi (Allyson) Sellers, Lincoln Sellers, Brett (Magan) Sellers, Brad (Amanda) Sellers, Lauren (Sam) Parks and forty- two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hugo’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
