Hollow Rock Board Meeting

The Hollow Rock Mayor and Board of Aldermen only voted on one item of business during the Oct. 20 meeting, and that was to promote Tandi Hall from clerk to the position of town recorder, effective immediately.

According to current town recorder Pam Gallimore, who is planning to retire at some point, she and Hall will share the position, both on a part-time basis, until Hall is ready to take over all the duties of the town recorder.

The board voted unanimously to promote Hall, who got a pay raise at the beginning of this fiscal year back in July and is scheduled to get another raise in January of next year.

Alderman Morris Rogers advised the board that he recently volunteered some of his time to do some mowing and weed eating and other cleanup work at the town’s walking/hiking trail behind City Hall.

Rogers also shared some ideas about possible improvement to the walking/hiking trail.

Police Chief Danny Emerson informed the board that Apex Bank recently presented the Hollow Rock Police Department with a $500 donation and a Blue Flag plaque in honor of Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.

The board was also advised that Granges has donated two 40-foot containers to the Hollow Rock Fire Department to be used for training exercises.
