Halls halted West Carroll’s quest to remain undefeated, edging the host War Eagles 21-15 last Friday night.

After a stalemate for much of the first quarter, Tigers’ quarter back Jamarkiel King found Ladarius Roberts in the final :30 of the first frame for a 54-yard TD pass. Halls led 7-0.

West Carroll’s Jay Long responded with a 45-yard scoring burst mid way through the second frame to knot the score at 7. With under a minute to play Halls’ Joshua Yebuah romped 22 yards to the end zone to lift the Tigers to a 14-7 halftime advantage.

The Tigers picked off a pass for a touchdown to lead 21-7 in the third quarter. West Carroll’s Jayden Milton scored from the 5 with under a minute to play in the game. The deuce moved the War Eagles within six, but they could get no closer.

Milton had 94 yards on the ground to lead West Carroll’s ground game. Long racked up 83 yards on the ground.

The Tigers, 4-1, 2-0 in Regoin 7A, will host winless Harding Academy Friday night. West Carroll, 4-1, 1-1 in 7A, will host No. 1-ranked McKenzie Thursday night. The Rebels blanked Perry County 56-0 last Friday.
