Glendon Rich

Glendon Rich, 76, of Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, April 25, at his home. Funeral Services were held on Thursday, April 29, at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home with Clint Ezell and Judge John Everett Williams officiating. Burial followed at Bethel Cemetery.
Mr. Rich was born September 30, 1944 in Huntingdon, to the late Glendon Ray Rich and Nell Smith Rich. He married his high school sweetheart, Pat Blackwell, on October 18, 1963, in Huntingdon. He had a lengthy career at Norandal in Huntingdon and retired as Plant Manager in 2002 after 35 years. Beginning when his own children were young, his passion was coaching and mentoring the local youth through Little League. He was an avid outdoorsman and supporter of the Huntingdon Mustangs, clock operator for football for over 40 years, and enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals. In addition to organized sports, Glendon enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and trapping. He was a board member of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce and was awarded the honor of Carroll County Citizen of the Year in 2018. Mr. Rich was a member of Guins Creek Hunting Club and a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Huntingdon.
He was preceded in death by his son, Byron Neal Rich; his parents, Ray and Nell Rich; his brother, Theron Neal Rich; and two infant siblings, Wayne and Beverly.
He is survived by his wife, Pat; three children; Paula (Kelly) Colvett of Huntingdon, Matt (Amy) Rich of Dickson, and Mark (Shauna) Rich of Huntingdon; three brothers; Terry (Marilyn) Rich, Billy Mac (Vickie) Rich, and Gordy Rich; three sisters; Virginia DePriest, Janet (Max) Bybee, and Nelda (Johnny) Hawkins; 11 grandchildren; Meredith (Tim) Weathers, Dexter (Whitney) Rich, Burton Colvett, Ben Colvett, Anna Colvett, Jacob Colvett, Spencer Rich, Reilly (Merry) Rich, Cade Rich, Ashlyn Rich, and Tatum Rich; and four great-grandchildren; Tylan Johnson, Brylon Weathers, Hayden Weathers, and Harrison Rich;
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Rich Family Relay for Life Team (Care of Nelda Hawkins, 355 Old 22 Ln., Huntingdon, TN 38344), or the Carl Perkins Center of Carroll County (50 Stoneridge Cove, Huntingdon, TN 38344).
