Gary Michael Johnston, 66, of Bruceton, passed away Friday, Sept. 25, at Laurel Wood Nursing Home in Jackson. Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 27, at the Bruceton Funeral Home with Steve Whitworth officiating. Burial followed at Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock.
Mr. Johnston was born August 29, 1954, in Huntingdon, to the late Herman C. “H.C” Johnston and Doris Horton Johnston. He was a retired mechanical engineer at TVA. He has a great love for reading books and his favorites were WWII and American History books. He had a great love for WWII planes, since his Dad was a mechanic on planes in WWII. He enjoyed cars and Grand Prix racing. Gary graduated from Hollow-Rock Bruceton Special School District and went on to get a Mechanical Engineer Ing Degree from Tennessee Tech. and was a member of Bruceton Masonic Lodge #731.
He is survived by two great-grandchildren and a host of friends and classmates.
Pallbearers were Robert B. Williams, Matt Moore, Randle Williams, Robert L. Williams, Darrel Douglas, Terri Larkins, Lynn Cole, and Mark Williams.
