Final subdivision plat approved by Lake Planning Commission

Carroll County Lake Planning Commission members have approved a final plat submitted by Preston Hall for the Reedy Creek Subdivision in the area of the Carroll County 1,000 Acre Recreational Lake. In the Feb. 23 virtual meeting, Community Planner Donny Bunton told Commission members that the final plat revised the interior lot line between lots 1 and 2. The proposal would have the effect of conveying 45 feet of street frontage to lot 1 while taking the same amount away from lot 2.

“The properties are zoned L-1 and have access to sewer service from the Town of Huntingdon and water service from Cedar Grove,” said Bunton.

The Planning Commission has scheduled a March 4 called meeting at 1 p.m. to take care of a revised plat situation for Marty Ensley.

Commission member John Austin said he didn’t understand why there had to be a called meeting to take care of the matter.

“It sets a precedent,” said Austin. “We have rules and we don’t need to have special called meetings. We need to keep it to regular meetings.”

Commissioners agreed to send letters to surveyors, contractors and subdivision owners advising them that called meetings would be a rarity in the future.

At the Oct. 27 meeting last year, commissioners approved a 10-day submission deadline for items to be submitted prior to a meeting. Burton indicated that ten days would give him ample time to review the items.

The next regular meeting will be March 23 at 1 p.m.
