Fillies Volleyball finishes second in district tournament

RUNNER-UP – The Huntingdon Fillies volleyball team finished in second place in district 12 tournament.

The Huntingdon Fillies volleyball team in only its second year of existence finished the regular season with a 16-4 record and entered the District 12 tournament as the two seed and won their opening game of the tournament with a hard fought three set to two win over Middleton. The Fillies won the first set 25-20, lost 21-25 in the second, 24-26 in the third, and rallied to win the last two sets 25-20 and 15-9 to advance to the championship game. The Fillies then lost to Madison Academic 14-25, 12-25, and 15-25 to finish second.

Kim Byars was named as the District 12 Coach of the Year at the conclusion of the tournament. Kelby Crossno, Delaney Byars, and Reese Bradley were named to the District 12 tournament. Sophie Singleton and Lia Fuller were named to the District 12 All-Tournament team. The Fillies will advance to the region tournament starting this week.
