The Huntingdon Point Guard held their annual Coca-Cola Christmas Classic last week at Huntingdon High School and the Huntingdon Fillies improved to 16-1 for the season with three wins in three days to claim the Classic title. The Fillies defeated Parsons Riverside on Tuesday 81-59 behind 24 points and 12 rebounds from junior Lilly Kee. Sophie Singleton was in double figures with 14, Delaney Byars 12, and Quinn Kelley 11 for the Fillies in the win. On Wednesday the Fillies defeated Greenfield 64-13 and were once again led by Kee with 20 points. Also, scoring in double figures for the Fillies was Byars with 11 and Lia Fuller with nine. On Thursday, the Fillies completed the sweep for the week with a 53-38 win over Chester County. Leading the way for the Fillies was Kee with 17, Sydney Anderson 11 and Byars 10.
The Huntingdon Mustangs received a bye on Tuesday and played their first game on Wednesday losing to Greenfield 61-55 as E.J. Lewis scored 19 and Ethan Ramsey with 11 to lead the Mustangs. The Mustangs played two games on Thursday as the tournament squeezed in a game with Waverly to start the day at noon and the Mustang lost to the Tigers in overtime 73-71. Lewis led the Mustangs with 22 including a three-pointer at the buzzer in regulation to tie the game and send it to overtime. Kaleb Pearson added 17, Caleb Ezell 14, and Graham Bartholomew 13. The Mustangs ended the day with a third-place game with USJ and lost 62-43. Ramsey was the only Mustang in double figures with 13.
Chester County won the boys title with a 53-52 win over Greenfield in the championship boys’ game.
