It was a night for West Carroll residents to come together in fellowship and prayer and to seek a deeper faith during the Field of Faith event July 31 at War Eagles Stadium in Atwood.
West Carroll High School student P.J. Odom, who served as host throughout the evening, welcomed everyone to the event, and student Zac Fowler gave the opening prayer.
Those in attendance were blessed with several moving vocal performances.
Student Mayce Mitchell sang “What A Beautiful Name” by Hillsong, and teacher Kim Allen sang “You Say” by Lauren Daigle.
Members of the Reedy Creek Baptist Church Choir delivered rousing renditions of “Come Let Us Worship the Lord” and “Sanctified.”
Giving the message was Bill Kisner, minister of students at First Baptist Church in Milan.
Kisner centered his sermon around the story of Zacchaeus from the Gospel of John, telling how God brought many elements and people together to orchestrate a life-changing encounter.
Citing Zacchaeus as the example, Kisner encouraged everyone to actively seek a personal relationship with Jesus and to make room for Him amidst all the distraction and business of modern life.
“What is crowding Jesus out of your life,” asked Kisner.
