Drive Thru Baby Shower huge success

DRIVE THROUGH BABY SHOWER – Fro left Kendal Walker and Julie Donaldson with Healthy Families West Tennessee gave away bags filled with useful baby items at the Drive Thru Baby Shower.

On August 24th the Carroll County Health Council, Community Advisory Board and Healthy Families West TN hosted a drive thru baby shower at the Carroll County Civic Center. Forty-two families were provided with goodie bags full of resources for new moms, including diapers and children’s books. 

Over 25 door prizes were handed out and included items such as a changing table, a baby bathtub, gift cards and more! One participant commented that she was just expecting a gift card and a baby toy. She was excited to receive so many helpful items and was glad she decided to come. 

The event was held in August as part of the promotion for Breastfeeding Awareness month. On site vendors and agencies that provided door prizes included Northwest TN Headstart and Early Head Start, the Carroll County Health Department, CCR&R, Family & Children’s Services; PBS; Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County; Tennessee Commission Children & Youth, Carroll County Prevention Coalition, Hometown Health Clinic, Amerigroup, Community Action Center, Northwest Adult Education Center, Carl Perkins Center, United Way, Carroll County Library and Beating Hearts.
