Dr. Evans named director of Baptist – Carroll County ER

Dr. Thomas Paul Evans

Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County has named Dr. Thomas Paul Evans director of the emergency department.

Evans will manage overall operations for the emergency department, including planning, directing and coordinating staff and activities. He will also develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the emergency department runs smoothly and efficiently.

“We are excited to welcome Dr. Evans to our team,” said Susan Breeden, administrator and CEO of Baptist Carroll County. “He brings 27 years of experience and specializes in internal medicine and pediatrics, which is a great benefit to our ER and community.”

Evans will continue to operate his practice at Evans Clinic.

“In my 23 years of practice in this area, I have had the privilege of treating more than 30,000 patients, so I am personally acquainted with many of the patients I will serve in the emergency department,” said Evans. “I’m grateful to my mentors Dr. Scott Portis and Dr. Jerry Atkins, long-serving physicians in this community, for teaching me their craft and modeling what it is to be a community physician.”

Evans grew up in the Atlanta area and moved to Huntingdon in 1999 to open his practice with his wife Dr. Pam Evans, who is a native of the city. They have three sons, Aaron, 24, Patrick, 21, and Chester, 17 — all of whom are pilots.
