Douglas Truman Hensley

1945-2022

United States Navy Senior Chief (Ret.) Douglas Truman Hensley, 76, passed away Saturday, February 26 at his home surrounded by his family. Celebration of life will be on Sunday, March 6 at his home located at 10470 Lexington Street Huntingdon, from 2pm to 11pm.

Mr. Hensley was born in Roslyn, KY to the late Hazel and Herman Hensley. He was honorably discharged from the United States Naval Submarine service in 1985 after 21 years of service. He was a Vietnam Veteran and served on multiple submarines including the U.S.S. Bluefish SSN 675. After Douglas moved to Huntingdon in 2014, a year later he joined the Board of Directors for the Habitat for Humanity in Huntingdon. He was a loving and proud father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers; Clayton Hensley and Mike Hensley both of MI, sisters; Ella Mae Willin, Elenora Stutz, Joyce Gunderson, and Sharon Boysen all of MI.

He is survived by his son; Douglas C.(Susan) Hensley and daughter; Karol E. (Jared) Yates all from Huntingdon, sister; Betty Storteboom of MI., brothers; Larry Hensley and Rick Hensley both of MI., Grandchildren; Nicholas C. (Alexa) Hensley, Michael J. Grasso, Douglas T. (Courtney) Hensley II, Rose M. Hensley (Nathaniel) Peevyhouse, Angel Furst, Ayden Furst, and Jayson Yates all from Huntingdon. Great grandchildren; Mikel Grogan, Douglas T. Hensley III, and Hunter Hensley all from Huntingdon, Jacob Harrison and Caroline Patterson from Fl. Also, many nieces and nephews.
