Doris Mae Knight, 85, of Atwood, passed away Thursday, Oct. 8. Graveside services were held Monday, Oct. 12, at 11 a.m., at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. Bodkin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Knight was born July 19, 1935, to the late Milton and Doris Walker Albro. She was a member of Atwood First Baptist Church and was very active in celebrating Veterans, where she participated in Veteran’s Day and Memorial Day programs for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Knight Sr., a sister, Joyce Griener; and a son, Glenn Knight.
She is survived by two sons, Eric (Jenna) Knight, of Trezevant, and Richard (Laurie) Knight Jr., of Lavinia; two daughters, Eileen Dunbar, of Atwood, and Elaine (Tony) Boyd, of Jackson; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
