Derik Patrick Burrows

Derik Patrick Burrows – Survived by his wife, Mary Margaret Burrows; parents, Patricia and Daniel Burrows; son, Aaron Leo Burrows; brother, Damon Krug Burrows (Laura); sister, Devon Quaid (Bryan); nieces and nephews Katelyn, Brandon, Joseph, Emilie, Declan and Cole; in-laws, Hugh and LaRenda Scarbrough, Brad Scarbrough (Katie). He is predeceased by his son, Patrick Samuel Burrows and nephew, Andrew Gabriel Quaid. Services were held at Calvary United Methodist Church on Monday, June 28, 2021, at 2pm.
Derik was a beloved friend and model citizen who generously gave of his time and talents serving his community through various nonprofit organizations.
He was an All State Champion in track and cross country at Woodbridge High School in Virginia, and a graduate of East Carolina University where he ran track and cross country on scholarship. He was a decorated Afghanistan Combat Veteran in the 101st Airborne, US Army; a professional photographer; and a selfless volunteer serving as a coach for youth baseball. His artistic talent helped to find and capture the beauty of this world.
