The Carroll County Health Department has won the Health Department of the Year Award. The award is chosen annually among a 19 county region, according to Emily Rushing, County Director for Henderson, Carroll and Chester Counties. This is the first time that the award has been received by the county health department.
“We are proud to be the recipient of this year’s award, particularly in a year as challenging as this one with the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Rushing. “I believe it speaks to our staff’s dedication to the COVID-19 response.”
The award is chosen based on nominations from employees across the region and determined by a panel that reviews all nominations. This is an annual award and the first time that it has been received by the Carroll County Health Department.
The 19 counties of the West Region include: Benton, Chester, Carroll, Crockett, Decatur, Dyer, Fayette, Gibson, Hardeman, Hardin, Haywood, Henry, Henderson, Lake, Lauderdale, McNairy, Obion, Tipton, and Weakley.
