Cluster Mae Ashby Oatsvall

1919-2019

Mrs. Cluster Mae Ashby Oatsvall, 100, of Huntingdon passed
away peacefully Friday, November 22, at Maplewood Nursing Home in
Jackson.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, at
the Huntingdon First Pentecostal Church. Interment followed in Palmer
Shelter Cemetery where Brother Bud Ricketts officiated.
Cluster was preceded in death by all her siblings: Curtis Ashby, Wayne
Ashby, Milburn Ashby, J.D. Ashby, Alta Morgan and Lois Wisdom. Their
parents were Mr. Nogie Ashby and Mrs. Vonnie Jarrett. She was preceded in death by both of her children, Troy Oatsvall and Patsy Gooch; and her husband
Elbert “Snip” Oatsvall, who passed away in 1989.
Cluster was born on September 12, 1919 and lived a very full life. In
addition to being a wife and mother, Cluster worked for the Huntingdon
Shirt Factory for 28 years. She was a valuable employee and a friend to
all. She was a member of the Huntingdon First Pentecostal Church for
most her adult life. She was active in many areas of the church,
including food preparation for events, a member of the quilting club and
a lover of her Lord Jesus Christ.
Cluster spent many summers with most of her grandchildren in and out of
the doors to her home. Church was never to be missed and she always had
gum in her purse for any who asked. She was funny, loved her friends and
family the most and never stopped telling God “If u take me tonight, I
am ready”.
Cluster is survived by 6 grandchildren: Kathy Jones, Jennifer Harper,
Rhonda Elford, Tony Gooch, Dayna Smith and Steve Oatsvall; 10
great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
