Reports from the Carroll County mayor’s office have confirmed that a Carroll County resident has tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
No information was made available on the age or identity of the patient.
In a press release from Mayor Jospeh Butler, he said “This afternoon we were notified by the Tennessee Department of Health that a resident of Carroll County has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The patient has a mild course of illness, is recovering, and currently in quarantine. “
“This is not unexpected,” the release went on to say. Your local and county leaders have been preparing for and expecting this for weeks.”

The coronavirus case confirmed in Carroll County is among one of 154 cases statewide as on Thursday afternoon, March 19.
