Chester Ray Baumgardner

1949-2019

Mr. Chester Ray Baumgardner, 70, of Cedar Grove, Tennessee passed away Saturday April 13, 2019 surrounded by family at his home.Funeral services will be conducted 10:00AM Tuesday April 16, 2019 in the Chapel of Dilday-Carter Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in Christian 
Chapel Cemetery. Brother Tony Taylor will be officiating with Brother 
Mason Taylor leading congregational singing.

Mr. Baumgardner was born January 17, 1949 in McKenzie, Tennessee to the late Columbus Howard Baumgardner and Ruth McCaslin Baumgardner. He was a former employee of Hayes Grocery of Huntingdon, ACCO-Babcock of Milan, and retired from the State of Tennessee Department of Parks & Recreation. Mr. Baumgardner was an avid fisherman and hunter, served in the Tennessee National Guard for six years, was a former commissioner and chairman of the Cedar Grove Public Utility District, and was a coach and umpire with the Huntingdon Girls Softball League for ten years. He was a member of the Christian Chapel Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years Debbie Woods Baumgardner of Cedar Grove, Tennessee; one daughter Brandy Baumgardner and son-in-law Mark 
Stanford of Cedar Grove, Tennessee; one sister Brenda (Max) Anderson of 
Cedar Grove, Tennessee and one brother Joe (Denise) Baumgardner of Jackson, Tennessee.


The family will receive friends at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00PM until 8:00PM and on Tuesday from 8:00AM until time of services. Dilday-Carter Funeral Home in charge of arrangements 731-986-8281.
