Luke’s statement, “Jesus was praying in a certain place” (Luke 11:1), reminds us that prayer was ultimately important to Jesus Christ because it was essential in the continuous and uninterrupted relationship between Jesus and God that enabled Jesus to do fully and completely what was required and necessary if He were to take upon Himself the sins of humanity, and suffer the required judgement, punishment, and death for all sins so that all persons may have forgiveness and salvation
