While Jesus Christ was with His disciples in the Upper Room, He “took the cup and gave thanks” (Matthew 26:27) knowing that He would be taunted and mocked, spikes would be driven through Hs hands and feet, He would suffer horrible pain, a spear would be shoved into His body, His flesh, muscles, and tendons would be ripped apart, and as He suffered and died in order to to satisfy the law that required suffering and death for our sins to be forgiven and for us to have eternal salvation.
