But bade them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this feast that cometh in Jerusalem: but I will return again unto you, if God will. And he sailed from Ephesus. Paul was a Christian but he must by all means keep the feast that was in Jerusalem. There were three feast of the Lord that commanded all able body men to go to Jerusalem, every year, for the worship and celebration at the Temple. Later returns and spends between two and three years there.

Paul’s promise, “I will come back if it is God’s will” (Acts 18:21) as he left Ephesus and sailed to Caesarea, reminds us that God is the priority in our life because He created us through Jesus Christ to fulfill His purpose which only He can direct and enable us to do as we read and study His Word, pray to Him, trust Him, follow His guidance in making choices, realize that our life is constantly in His’s  hands, and affirm with James, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that” (Jams 4:15).
