Peter’s affirmation, “Christ suffered for you,” reminds us that we love Jesus because He loves us and does something for us that no one else can do, that children climbed into His arms because they knew that He loved them, that those with leprosy knelt at His feet because they knew He could heal them, that tax collectors, fishermen, housewives, rich and poor persons, beggars, thieves, and all other individuals were drawn to Jesus Christ because they knew that He loved them with God’s eternal love.
