Carroll County Fair set for Sept. 22-26

As of now, the Carroll County Fair, scheduled for Sept. 22-26 is still on. No decision, whatsoever, has been made to cancel it, according to fair president Laura Keeton.

On Tuesday night, a post that was mistakenly placed on the Carroll County News Leader’s Facebook Page, said the fair had been cancelled. The post was immediately taken off when discovered that it was incorrect. Actually, this was the Carroll County Fair in the state of Illinois.

Linda Martin, who works for Keeton and is over the fair’s Domestic Arts Department and serves as fair board secretary, said Monday that the first event will be a beauty revue on Sept 19. Entries are to be accepted on Sept. 20 and 21. The actual fair is set for Sept. 22-26.

“It would probably be the first of August before any decision would be made if it was even going to be cancelled,” said Martin. “As of now, plans for the fair are going forward as originally set.”

The carnival, Sunshine Amusements, has agreed to come as they have been doing for the last few years and Monsters Truck have been signed on.
