Members of the Carroll County Electric Board discussed purchasing new vehicles to replace old, worn out equipment, during their regular monthly meeting on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2023.

“The board approved purchasing two foreman’s trucks,” said manager Ryan Drewry. “Back in October, we had two Ford F-350 trucks ordered, but the order was not fulfilled, due to the (state bid) allocation not being given to Carroll County Electric.”

The Electric Co. had to bid out Dodge Ram 3500’s instead of F-350’s. The low bid totaling $52,496 was awarded to Pepper’s Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Paris.

In other business, Drewry said Winter Storm Elliot, which occurred Christmas Eve and the day prior was discussed.

He  said the board revisited the winter weather event and viewed slides provided by TVA to illustrate some of the issues they had. They also discussed their after action plans and things they did to help mitigate the impact of the storm.

In announcements, it was noted the next board meeting is at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 23.
