Bass Nation West Tennessee Junior Championship

On April 24, 2021, the Carroll County Thousand Acre Recreational Lake will be hosting the Bass Nation West Tennessee Junior Championship.

“We are expecting 50 to 60 boats on the lake on the 24th,” said Brad Hurley, President of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce. “This tournament is in addition to the Bass Nation Junior State Championship which is coming May 8.”

All activities will take place at the Carroll County Thousand Acre Recreational Lake. Teams will “blast” off at first light and are expected to conclude with an awards ceremony at 4:00 p.m.

Young anglers from all across West Tennessee will be on the lake and in Carroll County on this date. Please make them feel welcome.

 Carl Perkins Center Glow Run/5K

The Carroll County Carl Perkins Center will have Glow Run/5K on April 24, 2021. Sign up is at 7 p.m. and the race starts at 8 p.m. This event is in conjunction with Child Abuse Prevention Month and to reinforce the theme “Light Up the Darkness”. Granges is an event sponsor for this event. Even if you don’t plan to run/walk, come join us for live music by the Jordan and Sauls family. They will also have food available.  Bethel University will host Men’s Soccer Opening Road

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced on Wednesday the group of hosts for the 2020 NAIA Men’s Soccer National Championship Opening Rounds. Qualifying teams and pairings will be released on Monday, April 19th. Bethel Wildcats Men’s Soccer team is currently ranked 8th in the nation.

 Play will be on April 22 and 24 and will have a single day of rest between the first game and the championship. The winner of each will advance to the final site in Columbia County, GA. Beginning on May 4, 2021.

The Opening Round games at Bethel University will be April 22 and April 24. Three other teams will join Bethel Wildcats for the Opening Round.

UT Extension hosting “Take Charge of Your Diabetes” Workshop

The UT Extension will be hosting a “Take Charge of Your Diabetes” workshop each Tuesday May 4 – June 8 from 10:00 – 11:30 via zoom. This is a six-week FREE evidence-based program that helps individuals take day-to-day responsibility for their diabetes care. Participants gain skills necessary to self-manage their diabetes and work effectively with their healthcare professionals.  Bethel University’s Spring Graduation

Bethel University’s Spring Graduation is scheduled for Saturday, May 8, 2021. The graduation ceremony is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. at Wildcat Stadium.

 Carroll County Chamber of Commerce National Day of Prayer Event

The 70th Annual National Day of Prayer, May 6, 2021, will have a profound significance for our country.  The theme for 2021 is Lord Pour Out Your Love, Life, and Liberty, emphasizing the need for individuals, corporately and individually, to return to the God of our Fathers in reverence for his Holy name. We have chosen our theme from 2 Corinthians 3:17, where it says, “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”We invite you to join us at the Carroll County Airport on Thursday, May h at 8 am, as we pray for our Nation, our State, our County and our Neighbors. Coffee and Donuts will be available for those who attend.
