Carroll County Chamber Notes

History is Made

For the first time in tax history of Carroll County, more than $7 million was collected in Local Option Sales. The exact number is $7,045,627 and represents a 15% growth over 2019. 50% of all Local Option Sales goes to our schools and is divided on a per pupil basis. The remaining 50% goes to the Government entity where it is collected.

“We believe the increase is due to increased shopping in Carroll County, and changes to how online Sales Tax is collected,” said Brad Hurley, President of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce.

Shopping in Carroll County does make a positive difference for our Businesses, our schools, and our local Government.
