Carolyn S. Wilkes

Carolyn Sue Wilkes, 87 of Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, Oct. 25, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Lynn Stapleton and Mr. John officiating. Burial followed at the Palmer Shelter Cemetery. Chase Funeral Home was in charge of these arrangements.

Mrs. Wilkes was born October 26, 1932 in Huntingdon, to the late Charlie and Cola Mae (Dickerson) Wilson. She was retired as a production worker from Publix Shirt Corporation, after 46 years and a member of Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gene Wilkes, who passed away June 4, 2010 and 1 brother, R. C. Wilson.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Barbara Wilkes (Joe) Knuutila of Camden, and Tina (Larry) Renfroe of Huntingdon; 1 sister, Freeda (Tony) Mauro of Nashville, and 1 sister-in-law, Marjorie (Allen) Gillespie of McMinnville. She also leaves 2 grandchildren, Candace (Corey) Todd and Corey Renfroe both of Huntingdon; 3 great grandchildren, Blaine Todd, Avery Todd, and Luke Todd, and many nieces, and nephews.

Pallbearers who served were Chuck Sullivan, Adam Hayes, Gary Hatch, Harry Curtis, Dennis Knuutila, and Ricky Wilson
