Huntingdon resident Brock Martin has earned the Republican Party nomination for Tennessee House District 79 representative over his only opponent, Gordon D. Wildridge, a Cedar Grove native who now lives in Lexington.
Martin will be facing off with the Democrat Party nominee, Thomas Jefferson, in November.
District 79 includes all of Gibson County, most of Carroll County, and a portion of Henderson County.
Longtime District 79 Rep. Curtis Halford did not seek re-election.
Martin garnered a total of 4,083 votes, while Wildridge’s total tally was 3,175. Martin dominated the vote in Carroll County with 1,554 over 802 votes for Wildridge.
Martin, who has a doctorate in chiropractic medicine, and his wife, Dr. Krista Martin, have their own practice, Southern Chiropractic and Acupuncture in Huntingdon. They have a five-year-old son, Steele.
