Over the summer, the Carroll County Public Library hosted a Summer Reading Program for local families. Participants of all ages, including adults, were rewarded based on how many hours of reading they logged or how many titles they read throughout the summer. In turn, those titles and hours were incentivized for the library, allowing the staff to purchase new books to donate as a result of Summer Reading Program participation. Carroll County Library Director Erin Crockett announced they were able to purchase 665 new books for children and young adults to donate to the Carroll County Carl Perkins Center. CPC Director Tee-Jay Glidwell picked up the books from the library on High Street on Thursday. She said the Center will use them for children during therapy sessions, while the majority will be given at Christmastime to the families served by the Center.
