Bethel/Eastside FCE Club learn about flag folding

There were 9 members present for the September 8 FCE meeting at the Mary and Pennye Mays house.  Thought for the day was “Self-Care”, read by our president, Gail Eubanks.  The devotion was given by the hostess for the month, Carol Hatley.  She used a devotion put together by a dear departed member, Irene Morris, on Meditations of the 23rd Psalm.  Prayer was offered.  The club pledge was read in unison.

Roll call was answered with “What is the thing you do for self care?”  The Treasurer’s report was given.

Old business:  Our booth for the Heritage Festival on September 24 was discussed.  It was decided on who was bringing what.  Finger foods and lemonade will be served along with some crafts for sale.  Set up is from 10-3.

New business:  Collected $5.00 dues for the state and district.  Continue bringing items for food pantry.  Motion made and carried to expand on contributions, with toiletries, starting in January.

Educational program was on the folding of the flag and what each fold stands for.

Voted to meet on Oct. 8 at 10 a.m. at the home of Mary and Pennye Mays to carpool to the Paris Landing Lodge for lunch as one of our outings.

Our October meeting will be at 4:30 p.m. at the 1,000 acre lake.  Bring a sack supper.  Hostess is Gail Eubanks.
