Atwood Mayor James Halford and Alderman L.N. McNabb who did not run for re-election in the Aug. election were honored recently.
Both received plaques for their service to Atwood. Halford has served 39 years as mayor and McNabb has been an alderman for 50 years or more.
Halford’s plaque read: “James Halford, In grateful appreciation for 39 years of service to the citizens of Atwood, TN. McNabb’s plaque read: L.N. McNabb, In grateful appreciation for 50 years of service to the citizens of Atwood, TN.
The swearing-in of the board members who were winners in the Aug. 8 election will be Dec. 8 at 7 p.m.
